Welcome to The Shutter Monkey!

The Shutter Monkey highlights the latest wedding and portrait commissions by AJ's Studio.

An eye for detail, emotion, and personality of your day, plus a style so distinctive it is referred to by many as "that AJ's look" make Amy and JP one of the Northwest's most respected and sought after photography teams. Scroll through a few entries to see our seamless fusion of photojournalism and relaxed, stylized portraiture for yourself!

We also invite you to use our search function to look up any venues, vendors, or particular wedding or portrait. Our Barrel of Monkeys includes an array of some fabulous national and international photographers who we are thrilled to call colleagues, and proud to call friends.

From time to time we'll also include a little peek in to our lives, our kids, families and friends who bring the happiness to this celebration we call life!

And Speaking of Cousins…

I thought that after yesterday’s post of the Little Family Cousins, it would be fun to blog some images of Giovanni and Marco - Hunter and Wyatt’s cousins they got to meet for the first time at the family reunion in California. Talk about a couple of bundles of energy and personality!

Hope to see you next year, guys!

Celebrate Cousins!

I met up with the Little family and the Little family for a portrait session of all the cousins at Esther Short Park .

Thanks for a great evening! You guys are great and lucky to have each other!

Celebrate Bob and Jean!

I met up with Bob and Jean at the WSU Vancouver campus for an engagement session.

JP and I are so thrilled for this couple! I can hardly wait until the big event in September!

Celebrate Jordan and Lianne!

Jordan and Lianne exchanged vows on Saturday. At 8pm Lianne walked down the aisle at the country manor of Hunter Creek Farm. Family and guests sang hymns under the sunset and watched as the couple exchanged vows and spent some special moments with their family. After the ceremony, the couple treated their guests to a spectacular dessert reception.

We’re on currently on the road and have limited internet access, so I’m posting a few formal images from this wedding with the promise of more down the road. But no excuses, this couple was a dream for their formal session!

All our warmest wishes for a happy life together Lianne and Jordan!
